2019 Scholarship Recipients

Ms. Kristie Brown-Walker, Second Vice President and Scholarship Chair.  Encouraging academic achievement and continuing education of the youth in our communities is one of the priorities of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., Mu Omicron Chapter.   The Scholarship Committee make available two annual scholarships.  Through our scholarship program, we recognize graduating high school seniors, a student attending an accredited institution (two or four year institution, technical school, business/secretarial school or other equivalent program institution)  pursuing a certificate, an associate degree or a bachelor's degree from the Washington Metropolitan Area (DC, MD, and VA), who demonstrates academic excellence, community service, leadership skills, and who choose to attend an institution of higher learning. 

Mu Omicron offers a Working Women's scholarship to a deserving recipient who is employed, display a financial need, maintains academic excellence, and is involved in community service.  In addition, the  Chapter awards two $500 book scholarships to Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC).  

Winners of the scholarships are notified in early April by the Scholarship Chairperson, and scholarship awards are presented to the recipients at the Chapter's Annual Spring Fling Dinner Dance held in late April.
